Meeting Style

Wem Quaker Meeting is a little unusual in that it has developed along the lines of a pastoral style meeting, which means that there is some prepared material brought to worship as well as the more familiar silent waiting and spontaneous ministry.

Friends meet together once a month on a Sunday evening at 8pm for worship. In the middle of each month we hold a ‘Nurture Group’ where we learn more about our faith and ‘listen each other into life’. We do this through reading, watching films and enjoying discussion around various themes. There is plenty of time to question, challenge and explore the difficult spiritual issues that we all may face in a gentle and loving environment. Worship is always difficult to describe and only by experiencing it can someone know if this is the right path for them. So we welcome visitors to ‘taste and see’.
