Meeting Style

Wem Quaker Meeting is a little unusual in the UK in that it has developed along the lines of a pastoral style meeting, which means that there are often songs and some prepared material brought to worship as well as the more familiar silent waiting and spontaneous ministry.

We meet together once a month for worship, at 8pm on the first Sunday of the month. In the middle of each month we hold a ‘Nurture Group’ where we learn more about our faith. We do this through reading, watching films and enjoying discussion around various themes. There is plenty of time to question, challenge and explore in a gentle and loving environment the difficult spiritual issues that we all may face. Worship is always difficult to describe and only by experiencing it can someone know if this is the right path for them. So we welcome visitors to ‘taste and see’.
